MAASAI MARA LAKE NAKURU
3 NIGHTS – 4 DAYS SAFARI ITINERARY


Day 1
Arrival and pick up from JKIA and proceed to further South towards Narok. We then proceed on to our destination camp with permanent fixed tents with beds and hot shower. On clear days, the Mara offers Orange tinted sunsets and you will definitely want to capture this moment while sipping on a sundowner back at our campsite. The Mara game reserve is 1510sq. KM incredible wide open landscapes and fertile line woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Tarek river. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal, it is typical savannah with a mass of amazing wildlife.

Day 2
After the breakfast the day is spent exploring the Mara magic. Wherever you go in the Mara you will see a frequent amount of Wildlife such as Masai giraffe, warthogs, baboons, Jackcal, bat eared foxes, spotted hyenas, topis, Impala, hartebeests, wildebeests, elephants, and buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in great numbers. It is common to see Lions either basking after heavy meal or surveying the plain for there next meal. Cheetahs and Leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common.


The ultimate action here is without doubt the annual wildebeests exodus in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move North from the Serengeti in search of Lusher grass before turning South again in October. The Massai village visiting can be arranged at a reasonable cost to help the community.

Day 3
After early breakfast, we then proceed to Lake Nakuru where we stay overnight in nice bandas. After afternoon tea we go for game drive to view flamingos, Rhinos zebras and many others wildlife.

Day 4
Early morning tea and proceed for morning game, Viewing back to camp and have early lunch and drive off to the air port. 



4-Day Naivasha–Nakuru Game Safari

This shorter trip offers those who have limited time wonderful opportunities to view Kenya’s wildlife. Both Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru boast abundant populations of bird species.  Naivasha, a fresh-water lake, is only a 2-hour drive from Nairobi, allowing for lots of time for wildlife viewing. With over 400 species of birds present, you’ll be certain to spot herons, fish eagles, osprey and lily-trotters, to name but a few species. Hippos, buffalo and giraffe are also found lumbering around the shoreline.




Lake Nakuru is an alkaline or soda lake, containing a distinct algal population. This in turn supports a wide variety of birds and a vast quantity of flamingos which number in the thousands and sometimes in the millions! Along the shoreline you can spot warthogs, baboons as well as the re-introduced White and Black rhino. You will also spot giraffes, waterbuck and possibly lion and leopard.






Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1
: Nairobi Arrival
Arrival in Nairobi - transfer from JKIA to Hotel. If time allows, participants can tour the informative Nairobi Museum.

DAY 2: Lake Naivasha
This day starts out early and ends at Lake Naivasha. A boat tour takes participants along the shores of this lake to see the abundant flora and fauna. We overnight at this sight.

DAY 3: Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, the safari heads to Lake Nakuru. The afternoon features a game drive around the lake.

DAY 4: Lake Nakuru – Nairobi
The day start out with early-morning game viewing. Participants arrive back in  Nairobi in the late afternoon.

6-Day Masai Mara Game Safari

Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular reserves in the whole of Africa. As the northern extension of Tanzania’s Serengeti and spanning an area of over 1510 km2, this reserve offers an incredible opportunity to view wildlife. The “Great Migration,” is the well-documented, spectacular Wildebeest migration that is a “must see.” Interspersed amongst the Wildebeest are companion Zebra and Impala, Thompson’s Gazelle, topi and giraffe, which lumber throughout the open savannah.


Predators are also found hidden throughout the area, ready to pounce at the opportunity of a meal. Here you’ll find the Big Cats – Lions, cheetahs and leopards – and other animals such as hyenas and Nile Crocodiles, lurking along the water’s edge.


There are many birds found in the Mara. These include 53 species of birds of prey, along with a wide variety of songbirds. Easily spotted from safari vehicles are eagles, vultures and storks.

Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival in Nairobi - transfer from JKIA to Hotel. If time allows, participants can tour the informative Nairobi Museum.

DAY 2:   After a healthy breakfast, participants are driven to Masai Mara National Reserve where they check in to a permanently tented camp with hot showers.

DAY 3:  Following breakfast, safari participants are treated to morning and afternoon game viewing in the Reserve.

DAY 4:  On this day, participants explore the local Masai area with a nature walk and gentle hike lightly inhabited Masai hamlets to experience their culture.

DAY 5: This day starts with a hearty breakfast which is followed by a full day game drive. This safari takes us to the famous wildebeest migration point and river crossing, located on the borders between Kenya and Tanzania.

DAY 6:  After breakfast participants are driven back to Nairobi. On the way back you will have the chance to stop over at a Masai Mara souvenir shop, to pick up one of the many wood, metal and beaded souvenirs available. The tour ends in Nairobi.

8-Day Samburu/ Great Rift Valley Lakes and 
Masai Mara Game Safari

This trip takes you to the world famous Bird Sanctuaries of the great Rift Valley, around Lakes Nakuru and Naivasha, then South over the Mau Escarpment to Kenya’s greatest concentration of game-the Masai Mara. Kenya’s Rift Valley escarpment offers some of the best breath taking views the country has to offer.

Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1: Samburu
We depart Nairobi in the morning heading north via Africa’s second largest mountain, Mt Kenya, to the Samburu Game Reserve. Accommodation is either at the semi-permanent campsite or in tents on the edge of Uaso Nyiro River.

DAY 2: Samburu
This day is spent game viewing in the park, appreciating the diverse landscape and variety of animal species. Samburu is part of a lava plain that includes a varied landscape of thorn scrub, red dirt, dried river beds, broken volcanic rock, steep hills and rocky outcrops. The region is home to the uncommon Grevy Zebra (with huge, fury ears,) Gerenuk antelope (standing on hind legs to feed,) Somali ostriches (with their distinct blue legs) and the Oryx. Elephant and crocodile are guaranteed sightings. Leopard sighting is also a special feature here. For the avid birder, this is an excellent spot to see numerous varieties of birds, including a variety of weaverbirds and the Martial Eagle.


DAY 3: Lake Nakuru
After an early breakfast we continue to Lake Nakuru via Thompson’s Falls. We stay at a campsite with ensuite facilities.

DAY 4: Lake Nakuru
A 30km drive south will lead us to the spectacular Lake Bogoria, with hot springs and geysers being the main attractions. The lake has a nomad flamingo population of up to two million birds. An afternoon game drive takes us to Lake Nakuru National park. This park is home to warthogs, waterbuck, buffaloes, reedbucks and the occasional leopard. White and black rhinos were introduced to the park some years ago and you will find white rhino at the southern end. The park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. We spend the night at a campsite.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha
We depart from Lake Nakuru and head to Lake Naivasha. Arriving in the late afternoon gives us a short break before we head out for an evening boat ride in search of hippos, eagles and a variety of other birds.


Day 6: Masai Mara
Heading further south towards Narok, we proceed towards our permanent campsite on the Talek River. Accommodations are either in small wood cabins, wall tents with beds, or in tents. On clear days, the Mara offers beautiful orange tinted sunsets. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife.

Day 7: Masai Mara
The 7th day is spent exploring the Mara magic. Wherever you go in the Mara you will see an abundant variety of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, Bat-eared foxes, Grey jackals, Spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephant, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in great numbers. It is common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common. The ultimate action here is, without doubt, the annual wildebeest exodus in July and August when millions of these grass-eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lush grass before turning south again in October. Balloon trips are an option that may be of interest; this is outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains and wildlife, after which you come back down for a beautiful champagne breakfast. These trips can be arranged at our office upon booking.


Day 8: Nairobi
We break camp and drive to Narok where Masai souvenirs can be bought, thereafter proceeding towards Nairobi.
